The first step to SEO success is to decide which search terms (keywords) are the best fit for what you do and if anybody out there is using them now. The goal of SEO is not just getting visitors to your site, but getting the right type of visitors to your site. Google has told us for well over 10 years what is important to them and how to rank higher in search engines. There is no magic number of words or characters to use, however the more robust the content is, the better chance the page will be able to maximize traffic from organic search results (due to long-tail keyword traffic).
